Strategic Development Plans and Projections

Basic strategic objectives of Merkur Group focus on further growth of the companies, which form the three specialised divisions.

The divisional organization enables optimal processes and ensures better productivity and cost effectiveness. Even more importantly, such organization provides a dynamic and flexible organizational structure essential for stable growth and fulfilment of set objectives. The divisional organization also allows for higher independence of the Divisions, and their managements are allowed to run commercial operations relatively freely. The organizational structure is flat and business decisions are made promptly. The divisions, however, maintain and further develop the established retail and wholesale concepts.

The Group intends to strengthen its position in Slovenia and ensure further growth in the markets of Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Macedonia by increasing its investments in new sales and steel centres and warehousing facilities, developing high-quality services, merging with compatible companies and establishing strategic partnerships. In the area of South-Eastern Europe the Group plans to win market leadership in its respective sales programmes and compete successfully with the large international trading systems.
